Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you call it volunteering, neighboring or helping others, many acts of kindness happen when people like you, your co-workers, friends or family just do something on their own to brighten someone’s day. Pledge to make this a summer of caring to improve lives in Yellowstone County.

Here are some ideas to help you get started.

Write a Note

· Write and mail notes just to say “Hello, I am thinking of you.”

Positivity Campaign

· Make notes of encouragement and leave them under windshield wipers on cars.

· Put sticky notes with uplifting messages on bathroom mirrors.

· Send a positive text message to five (5) people right now.

· Leave a positive note and/or surprise treat on a co-workers desk.

Kindness Rocks

· Paint small rocks with smiley faces or short messages of encouragement and leave them for people to find and pick up.

Start the Ripple

· Design and print business card-size notes to acknowledge good deeds or offer an encouraging word. Hand them out with a message to pass it on.

· Flood social media with positive and encouraging messages.

Billings Public Schools Disaster Simulation

Description

This training will be extremely life-like/realistic, with some role players acting as wounded/walking wounded/potentially deceased.
There will be a team helping with moulage/make-up, to increase the level of realism. The majority of actors will play the part of classroom students. (only wear clothes that you do not mind getting possibly stained) (please bring protective eyewear as in goggles, or sunglasses)
This training may be triggering for some, and I want you to know, up front, that it will not be for everyone.
Volunteers will not be allowed to possess any weapons or cell phones during the training, due to the nature of the RTF exercises. All possessions will be safely stored during training.
This will be held at West High School
