VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: RIDES Transportation Driver
SUMMARY: Transport clients on
errands such as grocery store, pharmacy, post office, hair salon, bank, etc.
Ride must be non-medical.
KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist clients arm to arm, curb to curb, door to door depending on volunteer’s
comfort level and ability
AUXILARY REQUIREMENTS:
Must travel with a cell phone to track and arrange communication from
within the place of business
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of lifting up to 5-7 lbs.
Bending, stooping standing twisting
Volunteers may lend an arm or hand but should not engage in transferring or
moving clients
Assistance may include moving a walker or cane to the backseat of the auto or
trunk
This may also include carrying items for the client

SHIFT/COMMITMENT:
Service is available M- F only, with exception of major holidays. Start
after: 8 am-Complete by 4 pm
Volunteer commits to providing one ride each week, ride not to exceed 3
hours/trip
On Call Position-Volunteer receives 48 hours advance notice
SCHEDULING:
All requests for RIDES transportation must be arranged and approved by the
Service Coordinator
Volunteer calls with a friendly reminder before making the visit call with a friendly
reminder before making pickup. Alert the client to your arrival by calling from
your car
Volunteer identifies as Alliance Volunteer and wears Alliance name badge
A volunteer is credited with 2.5 service hours for each scheduled and completed
ride
LOCATION: Billings, Billings Heights

Immediately contact either the Service Coordinator or Volunteer

BENEFITS: Mileage
reimbursement at 80% of the current Federal Rate from door to door, including
miles driven to complete tasks for clients.
