Chinook Horses will host our annual Kentucky Derby Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at White Aspen Ranch in Billings, Montana from 12pm to 4pm!
This fun, family-friendly event will include the following activities:
- Churchill Downs-themed lunch, catered by Scratch Kitchen
- Derby-themed drinks
- Silent and live auctions
- Prizes for best dressed couple, best ladies’ hat or fascinator, and best handmade hat or fascinator
- Viewing party of the Kentucky Derby
- Parade of Horses
- Horse poop bingo
- Pony rides
- Hat making table for the kids
- Hobby horse races
- Photo booth
All proceeds from the event will go directly into providing Chinook Horses’ services to vulnerable children and adults of Yellowstone County. To register you or your family, please visit https://chinookhorses.org/events/ .
Tickets prices: $35/adult, $60/couple, $75/family of four ($5/additional child)
Interested in volunteering at this event? We have the following shifts and time slots available to accommodate your schedule! Choose an area basked upon your skill and/or interest:
- Serving lunch (10:30am-2:30pm): 3 volunteers needed
- Monitoring horse poop bingo game (11:00am-3:30pm): 2 volunteers needed
- Live auction support (1:30pm-3:30pm): 2 volunteers needed
- Silent auction support (12:00pm-3:00pm): 2 volunteers needed
- Hobby horse races support (11:30am-3:30pm): 2 volunteers needed
- Setting up the event (9:00am-12:00pm): 4 volunteers needed
- Breaking down the event (4:00pm-5:00pm): 4 volunteers needed
- Check in table support (12:00pm-4:00pm): 3 volunteers needed
Currently, we do not have any opportunities to volunteer directly with the horses available for this event. Therefore, no experience with horses is required to volunteer.
