Are you a leader with a desire to help others?  Do you believe in the power of community?  Pay Love Forward is looking to train and support leaders developing compassionate communities in our area. 

Pay Love Forward utilizes a leadership development model, providing training and a template for developing and supporting compassionate communities in Billings.  Responsibilities would include developing a compassionate community, completing training in mentoring, coaching, and leadership development, social media outreach, and joining a network of other compassionate communities like Pay Climbing Forward and Pay Swing Dancing Forward.

We are currently enrolling Bigs for community-based mentoring in Billings! Do you have 4-6 hours a month to share with a child in your community? Our Bigs and Little meet 1x weekly doing activities they are both interested in. They build a positive mentoring relationship by bonding over similar interests and activities and have fun while doing it! What are you waiting for?

Special Olympics Montana youth teams are looking for volunteers with any experience level to make either a short or long-term commitment to assisting or helping coach youth teams.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County has five Clubhouses filled with hundreds of amazing young people in kindergarten through 12th grade!  Many of these young people would benefit greatly from another caring adult who could visit with them for an hour or two per week as a positive adult role model.  Our Club professionals can match you with a member in one of our Clubhouses that is convenient to your office or home, and will provide you with training and support throughout your time with the members we serve.

School Year Service Times:  Monday - Friday from 3 to 5 pm

Summer Service Times: Monday - Friday from 10 am to 5 pm

Volunteer Expectations:

    - Volunteers must be 18 years or older

    - All mentoring activities will occur at one of our Clubhouses

    - All volunteers must pass a background check

Project leaders are needed in all areas from leather craft to aerospace and anything in between. If you have knowledge about a topic or skills in an area you can educate youth in the 4-H program.   You can work with an individual or in a group to help them learn.  The hours and days are flexible. Share your knowledge with a young person!

Judges are needed for all 4-H project areas at the fair as well as events during the year.

Contests are held in quilting, sewing, public speaking, demonstrations and many others throughout the year. Judges evaluate the youth based on set criteria.

Judges for the MontanaFair have the opportunity to visit with youth about their projects in the non-livestock areas.  Judges evaluate the project the member made and the things they learned as part of the judging.

Become a Classroom Grandparent (FG) in your community!  If you are 55 or better, live on a limited retirement income, and can commit to 12 or more hours/week, love working with children, then this may be your "encore career"!  No education experience required.... just a kind heart and the ability to learn new things. 

FGs serve directly in the classroom of a local school, Head Start, or other non-profit childcare center or after school program.  FGs work on teacher-assigned tasks as mentors/tutors that include:

Our program serves the counties of:  Yellowstone, Mussellshell, Carbon, Blaine, Big Horn, and Rosebud.  We serve: Ft. Belknap, Northern Cheyenne, and Crow Reservations. 

Time devoted to service as a Foster Grandparent is time very well spent and will make a measurable difference in the lives of students.  Service schedules are somewhat flexible and are set to accommodate your life as well as the needs of the classroom.  

Become an AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteer as a Foster Grandparent and you will be serving your country. 

We are looking to add to our District Committee. The person will be responsible for many aspects of the District functions depending on the position accepted. Current Members at Large meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm to discuss the key functions of the District, upcoming events, development, community relations, membership, and much more. The volunteer must be able to pass a background check and will be required to fill out an adult application. Positions on the committee vary and it depends on the individual's time commitments and interests. We have a little something for everyone. If youth development is a passion of yours, we want to meet you. 

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are community volunteers who work with abused and neglected children in foster care and serve as the children’s advocate and voice to the court as their case moves through the courts and the child welfare system.

Our CASA Advocates serve as the "eyes and ears" of the court. They meet with the children every month and interview foster parents, family members, teachers, health care providers and anyone else involved in the children’s lives. The CASA then provides a monthly written report and recommendations directly to the judge presiding over the case. Our volunteer Advocates are appointed to a group of siblings, or sometimes one child, and dedicate 5-15 hours per month to their case. Often the CASA is the one constant in the children’s lives through their journey in the child welfare system, and as such we ask that the volunteer commit to a case through its entirety which can last up to 2 years.

When someone decides to become a CASA Advocate, our office begins the application process which includes an online application, interview, background checks, and an 8 week training course. Once a volunteer has completed these requirements they will be sworn in by a 13th Judicial District Judge at which time the CASA becomes eligible for appointment to a case.
