Opportunities From: United Way of Yellowstone County

Volunteer: United to Solve Homelessness Data Entry Volunteer

Another way UWYC is supporting our community through this effort is by recruiting and training volunteers to serve as USH Data Entry Volunteers to help our partner agencies get client data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), an essential tool for coordination and collaboration across agencies and in pursuit of providing excellent an informed services for clients experiencing homelessness.

This role is intended to be a long-term position; we are looking for individuals who care about our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness and are looking to make an impact in our community. This position is for 2-10 hours a week and will begin with a training session led by a HMIS expert to familiarize you with the system.

Volunteers will be paired with a primary agency where they will spend most their hours doing data entry, though we may ask for support at another agency from time to time from volunteers if there is a gap to be filled. Data entry is simple and includes direct copying of client data from paper or other agency software into the HMIS system. This position requires a basic understanding of computers and the ability to sit for extended periods. Volunteers who are detail oriented and enjoy repetitive tasks will excel in this role.  This role is in person.
