Volunteer: In Store Volunteer

Like people and enjoy dealing with the public!! Return business is critical to us and word of mouth is our main form of advertising! Be interested in the world and the world’s people Be ready to learn more about Fair Trade

 

 Responsibilities in order of importance:

Welcome the customers Help them find the perfect item Be willing to learn about and communicate about Fair Trade Run the register, take and make change, “bag” purchases Other duties as time permits are light cleaning and straightening, unpacking and tagging merchandise, general day to day retail tasks the manager needs done

Other volunteer opportunities include:

Helping unpack and mark merchandise; helping with special sales out of the store; helping with outreach activities

 

Shifts – Monday through Saturday

            10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

            1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.     

We ask for each volunteer to work a minimum of two shifts per month. This helps the volunteer keep up on the merchandise, be familiar with new merchandise and its stories, and remember POS (point of sale) procedures.

It is important that volunteers work scheduled shifts.  If you cannot work, you must call Staff and/or the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as you know you will not make it to work.
