A key component of Veterans Navigation Network (VNN) is our peer mentor program where veteran mentors provide peer-to-peer support to veteran participants (mentees). Veterans are better served by having a support system that includes someone who understands military experience and the different aspects of military culture. Mentors provide a supportive relationship and encourage, guide, and motivate mentees with entry and timely completion of a variety of tasks with the goal being successful readjust to civilian life. Reports to the VNN Program Coordinator and this volunteer’s worksite is typically at their discretion with the agreement of the peer mentee.
